SNOW SCUPPERED SCREENWRITERS MEETING WEDS 6TH JANUARY

Weds 6th January 7 pm The Arts Lodge

Roy and I did manage to get to the Lodge last Weds evening for shortly after 7pm, but there was no sign of life...We assume the Lodge did not open or closed early due to the adverse weather. Apologies to anyone who got there before we did.
We will be rescheduling that planning meeting, it's pretty crucial to the future of the group that we establish a workable pattern for this year: It will be an opportunity to plan for the next series of workshops and discuss how we want to develop the group. There are currently some ideas knocking about regarding how to proceed but we are all still open to input on how people want to move forward.

Please watch this space for a revised date.

See you soon!

Nice one Roy, just make sure they let you keep the people extreme.

Many, many congrats to Roy and Gareth on their success at this year's Screen South awards. For two people from such a tiny community to do so well is fantastic especially when I understand that there were more than 200 scripts to chose from. Good luck Roy with the next phase and have a great time in Brighton. Carol

Well done mate!

I got down to the last 25 with "Nightguard" and they're going o do a "consolation" day in the new year.
Enjoy the mentoring - you'll have to let us know all about it!
And you'll have to write a script now...
Regards,

Gareth

Hi all

Just thought you might like to know that Golf Club has been shortlisted for this years Digital Shorts (Screen South/UK Film Council) scheme and I have been invited to attend a writing workshop next week in Brighton.

Thank you for all your help in workshopping the idea and getting it to a stage where it would go through to the next round.

Regards

Roy

Since I like software that makes life easier for me, I thought people might be interested in this:

Celtx is the world's first all-in-one media pre-production software. It has everything you need to take your story from concept to production. Celtx replaces 'paper, pen & binder' pre-production with a digital approach that's more complete, simpler to work with, and easier to share.

Digital Shorts deadline has just been announced as 23rd October!

This means we won't get to have workshopped scripts at the November meeting of the writers group. We will have done the synopsis workshop though and can do the rest online!

Get writing....

Hi Roy,
Thought you might be interested to check out the premise for the film Daybreakers, it isn't vampire sci fi like yours but contained similar ideas. This subject will always fascinate and be made into films. I watched Salem's lot the other night and scared myself silly.
Hope all good

So "Nightguard" ?

Some prefer the longer version, for the slow build, others prefer the tighter version.

What do you think?

Please let me know...
